ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities) 2020 ranking, which ranks the world's most successful universities, was announced. İstanbul University, which has been in the top 500 for 17 years since 2003, (the year when the ranking was first held), continued its tradition of success this year, too. Our university was the only Turkish university in the top 500 in the Academic Ranking held this year.

İstanbul University, Turkey's leading university with its academic performance, scientific competence, and student potential, has shown another success. In the ARWU 2020 ranking published by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy organization, İstanbul University was ranked in the 401-500 band, achieving a significant degree.

Steady Success from İstanbul University

Continuing its success in the top 500 for 17 years, İstanbul University became the only Turkish university representing Turkey among the 500 most successful universities in the world. İstanbul University was followed by Hacettepe University and İstanbul Technical University, located in the band of 601-700.

Cambridge University was the third in the ARWU ranking, with Stanford University being the second, and Harvard University being the first.
